The Hands & Faces Behind Two Plank

TJ Sayles, Founder

I've been working in construction since 2000, when I took a job as a laborer with a custom home crew building on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. In the last 23 years I've been fortunate enough to work as a carpenter and site superintendent on interesting projects in Seattle, Portland, Costa Rica, the Emerald Triangle of California, Oahu, and for the last 9 years, here in Boise.

In recent years, my focus has been on understanding how our built environment can influence and affect our health, our communities and our planet. Building with this perspective directs the focus of my work with Two Plank Construction. In the past several years I have tried to deepen my understanding of the built environment by becoming Idaho's first Sustainable Homes Professional certified by Earth Advantage in 2017, being a member of the 2019 Boise Livability Ambassadors cohort, and currently serving on the City of Boise Code Review Board.

I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and two young daughters on our little homestead in Boise's Morris Hill neighborhood.
